What happened to this place?. I used to frequent Sushi King nearly ten years ago. I used to come in for their early bird special. However, the quality of food has changed. The sushi was horrible and it doesn’t taste fresh anymore.. they all taste frozen. Not sure what has changed. Perhaps a change of owner? Service is okay, nothing really special. I am absolutely disappointed.
Went here for lunch–didnt know that places around here close between lunch and dinner. My colleague and I arrived shortly before closing, and we ordered, ate, and paid very quickly. The otoro (fatty tuna) nigiri was delicious, as was the hotate (scallops) and magura (tuna). The waiter was in training, and in his rush to get our order missed some nigiri. Instead, since the kitchen was closed, brought us some complimentary soup. I would go back and eat there again, but maybe when we aren’t being rushed.
Must be making good money. Inflexible.. Went in at around 700, before it on my watch at least, to a near empty restaurant on a Tuesday night (so they will close and no late night). Came in with wife and toddler in tow, asked if we could order early bird, was summarily dismissed. This is after the price increase, which ownership says follows Zippy’s leylines. Odd, since Zippy’s now has specials and as allegedly dropped some prices (I do know that the food quality (sashimi fish is not the same, but don’t say things in Dining Out then). Value drops considerably without early bird, to a point that the choice is Gyotaku or sushi king. Shrimp preference, gyotaku. Sushi preference, Sushi King (? I don’t eat much sushi, I don’t know if they are better.)
Did you tip!!!?!!!. The sushi was not bad, and the waiters were very nice and friendly. We actually enjoyed our experience at Sushi King until we got up to pay.The cashier asked us if we had tipped yet, and we told her we hadn’t, not that we weren’t going to.She then told us to make sure to tip!!!! We all thought it was the rudest thing ever and stood there in disbelief! Her comment really ruined our experience.
Good food good service. Down side packed worst then sardines in a can.
Would not recommend. I would not recommend this place. The female owner who works in the front is very rude and unpleasant. The food is mediocre.
