Friendly service and reasonable prices by Maui standards. Dungeness crab was tasty but not worth the mess as it came slathered in sticky sauce. Spring…

Really love it!!! We stay in Maui for 2 weeks. And we came to this restaurant around 4 time. Foods are so good. We really enjoy it. Ps. Service was great too. They are so friendly 🙂 aloha!!!!
Pinky sized spring rolls???…they exist.. Got a quick dinner, after the insistance of a friend that it’s great for vegans. Umm, there were only about 4 vegetarian options. Here’s what we got for $30…1 order of spring rolls ($10) – this included 4 tiny rolls, the length & thickness of my pinky finger (yes, my skinny pinky finger!) on top of 2 leaves of lettuce and about half a cup of angel-hair noodles…now, ordering spring rolls, you’d assume there’d be something more to the rolls for $10???…disappointment.1 order of tofu mushroom ($18!) – just that. Tofu with a plain sauce, about 2 mushrooms sliced, and 2 small scoops of rice…disappointment. This does come with tons of sauteed onions, which I asked them to hold…but as was the quality of service, it was missed, and we ended up with a ton of sauteed onions :(My husband and I had planned to share the meal…not even enough for one person. Also noted when we walked in that everyone eating appeared to be family members of the staff, many of them looking at us and speaking another language…uncomfortable atmosphere, within the first 2 minutes we had chosen to get our meal to go.$30 wasted, won’t be returning. service – okayfood – mediocreportions – tinyprice – not matching of food portions or food qualitypresentation/appeal of food – none existentatmosphere – great if you love being starred down by a restaurant full of vietnamese people, while they talk about you in their native tongue…or highly awkward.
NOT WORTH THE MONEY. You need to review the menu prices before you go into this place. Be careful about places that do not post their menu prices either online or outside of the restaurant. The food was tasty I give them that, but the service along with the price was just awful.
Sighhhh-gone. I really want to like eating at A Saigon Cafe. The wait staff is hilarious, entertaining and distracts from the food, which was once excellent and now apathetic. It has become a fast act, and an old show, archaic as their dirty carpet and tables, and nothing has really changed or evolved in all the years they have been in business. I wish they would consider a fresh approach to their food and routine.
Go hear right from the Maui airport. A delicious, inexpensive pick me up after the long flight. Great noodle soups and rolls.
Bad service. Waiter was nice enough but we never got the tea or spring rolls we ordered. He also seemed to have a problem with placing our order for the shrimp entree…it first came out as beef and then as chicken before finally arriving as shrimp. They charged $1.95 for an extra bowl of rice. Be prepared to spend $80 on lunch for 3 without appetizers, drinks or deserts.23 Jan, 2011Overpriced fish. We asked for a recommendation for fish or seafood. All items on the menu were between $10-20. They recommended a common local fish in black bean sauce. While it was good, it was half the portion they said and the price for it went from $20 at time of ordering to $38.95 when the bill came. I won’t go back.
