TAKAMIYA Market is the place. well known by ALL maui locals, popular place for pupu’s, prepared bento’s, marinated meats. it’s a small market very laid back local style place has not changed. some of their brook the mouth food is: marinated terriyaki (sold by container), marinated korean ribs (sold by container), mix hamburger (sold by lbs).pupu’s: salted ahi poke, shoyu poke, tako poke, kimchi tako, dried ahi, pickeled pohole, kulolo.locals have been going there for years for pau hana suck ’em up time, for barbeque’s, and for preparing family dinners. it’s where i go to make my loco moko or hamburger steaks. it’s the place islanders living in the mainland request their family back home to send them food from.
