Highly recommended to this place from friends on the mainland so came with high expectations.Sushi Sasbune isn’t your mall sushi train by a million or two miles. Having lived in Tokyo for a year and eaten with good Japanese friends I was looking forward to being served what was fresh, the chefs choice rather than ala carte. And this is the way to do it here.An amazing array of dishes and pairings. Highly recommended for visitors to Hawaii.
This was quite possibly one of the best dining experiences of my life. I will say that to get through the recommended 13 dishes is far too much food but I was able to fight through. This is not a journey for the faint of heart as the chef designed menu does offer some obscure choices that I can imagine not all will eat.
Quality bit pricey, omakase so you are left to the whims of the chef. We were served 10 courses over half were nigiri which while of excellent quality was a bit repetitive of an experience for the price paid. We missed having any sashimi served as well. Inventive serving of Jamaican lobster and crab legs made up for it I guess. We barely completed all the food and left with smiles, VERY full bellies and emptied wallets
Excellent. Worth the price. Thats all you need to know. I just went tonight and it was easily one of my top 5 dining experience out of 7 different countries
I’ve been eating here for 6 years now and have seen the service and quality of food rapidly decline over the past year. Tonight I waited 30 minutes to be seated past my reservation and once again the service was dispicable. At one point the food and service was some of the best that I have ever experienced and while you paid for it, it was well worth it. Those times have past and I will NEVER eat there again!
Maybe the best meal I have ever had After reading all the things online about how strict the rules here are I was a bit taken back but do as they say trust me you will not be disappointed we had nothing that was short of amazing every piece was mind-blowing we kept eating till we couldn’t anymore all I can say is go here
Wonderful sushi experience. One of the best sushi experiences I have ever had. But be prepared to be told how to eat each tender morsel by the sushi chef. Each offering is impeccably prepared with top quality fish or seafood. Highly recommended!
