No good!. I have never written a review on one of these, but I went to get sushi tonight from Kuru Kuru and was so disgusted. I threw it all away. I got the Caterpillar roll which the only fish it had was the skin of the fish. I also got the ahi tuna, which seemed like it was processed and frozen, like something you would get at Costco. I was excited to eat there, and maybe my expectations were too high, but I couldn’t even force myself to eat it. Unfortunately I wasted my money. If you are looking for fresh, good sushi, not the place.
I Wish I Could Tell You What Sushi Was Like….. …however I didn’t get that far. I went in on a Tuesday night by myself, looking for something quick and tasty for dinner while my better half was off on a business trip. I waited there for 35 minutes while parties of 3, 4, and even a 6 top, were seated before me, and they weren’t even in the booths. There is very little I can’t stand when it comes to a restaurant having been in the business for as long as I have, but pulling that stunt is inexcusable. Genki will be getting my business from now on!
FAVORITE Sushi spot on the island. LOVE LOVE LOVE Kuru Kuru! Excellent sushi and very affordable. We moved back to the mainland about 3 years ago and have not had sushi this good since and the prices are outrageous to boot. We are moving back to Oahu this summer and Kuru Kuru will be our first stop! My favorites are the spicy tuna, ahi poke, and the dynamite! I can’t wait to go back!!!!

Fresh fish!. I will drive out of my way to have the salmon with the onions! It is always fresh, and always amazing–even the sushi rice is great! I can never step into another Genki, ever. Genki serves this same dish but Kuru does it better.
Location. I miss Kuru Kuru!! When I used to live on Oahu I’d go to Kuru Kuru almost everyday. I fell in love with Genki and Kuru Kuru even more!! I miss the Spicy Don’s cant go wrong with the size and price.. It goes $12.99/lb for ahi tuna at super markets..They should open another restaurant, hence they ONLY have ONE location. I bet you they will BLOW up on the big island (where i live now) if they ever open one here. So far only Genki opened a spot in Kailua-Kona.
Long time customer, seen this place from new to long waits but worth it. Best spicy ahi don buri in town! Customer service friendly too.
