Disappointing Dinner. Last time I dined at MBC was about 25 years ago so we were really looking forward to a nice dinner. It was not to be. Ordered the Ribeye w/ Blue Cheese Crumbles on a Sizzling Platter. Our steaks arrived sizzling but mine was thinner and it quickly cooked down to almost well done on the thinner edges. Server asked if I wanted another steak and I agreed. She then asked if I would prefer it rare so as it sizzled on the platter it would become medium rare. I agreed. 15 long minutes later she brought my steak out on a regular plate, not a sizzling platter. It was rare. My dining partner had finished his steak so I declined another try at a Sizzling Ribeye Steak medium rare. They must have written us off as our plates were never cleared and although the server apologized profusely, we did not receive any more service…just dirty plates to look at for the next 15 minutes until we got out check and paid. A really bad experience and the steak I did manage to eat was not very tasty. Asked for a card to contact the manager (no management representative contacted us at the table). I hope to hear back from Mr. Valencia.

Bottom line up front: don’t go here. Period. Staff left much to be desired (much like the rest of this island). During check in the hostesses seemed confused and completely unorganized. Showed up at 6:00pm on a Saturday night. No wait, which was nice. Server was strange at best and talked really strangely. Couldn’t understand most of what he said. Food was fast food style; I wish I was kidding as I paid $60 with tip for two meals. I had the fried garlic shrimp ($20 something) and I am almost positive they use the same supplier as Panda Express. Wife’s pasta was $15 and was basically all cheese, some noodles, and a couple shrimps with tails on. My fried shrimp was also tail on. So much for food prep. Drinks were overpriced. And that’s saying a lot since their happy hour margarita special was $1.50. It was 99% margarita mix and 1% straw. Gross. So yeah…tequila actually goes in the glass too, in case they didn’t understand that complicated drink.Go elsewhere. Comparable food quality would be L&L or Panda. Didn’t do my due diligence on review, regrettably of course. Won’t return. Hope the owners see the writing on the wall and make some major changes.

Love the atmosphere, pretty hostes and waitresses, as said by others, food too expensive for the small amount. Fish and chips no bueno.

Don’t go for dinner. Dishes are over priced for the quality and amount of food. Lunch may be better but I doubt I’ll be trying it out. Servers obviously don’t enjoy their jobs, which I understand customer service is hard, but at least put on a fake smile for the prices you pay. Food took a while to come out even though there were only 4 other tables with costumers. Alright tasting food.

Mbay canners in hawaii!. I was surprised to see a monterey bay canners in hawaii. thought it was a california coast restaurant chain. this one serves seafood with a hawaiian twist. we came for lunch and it was quite busy for a week day. ordered the hawaiian marinated steak which was quite good! i preferred it with rice vs. mashed potatoes. also ordered the fried fish & shrimp and scallop platter and the island sauce it came with was yummy the lunch prices are reasonable.

Started out with the crab stuffed mushrooms which were very rich an delicious but the portion was small for the price. I ordered the steak an my date ordered the calamari linguini which he enjoyed. The steak was well prepared but fatty. Overall a bit pricy for the food and service. O and they do special desert for birthdays but only if you come ON that day? We went the night before mine and our waitress denied us any birthday desert.
