A wonderful atmosphere. Had a live piano player in the lounge that we could hear over speakers and throughout the restaurant. The service was spectacular, with detailed descriptions of the food we had questions about. Food was amazing, I had the catch of the day and the plantation pie. Make room for that pie, but it will be hard given how yummy the entrees are.
I absolutely loved everything about Gaylord’s. The atmosphere was amazing, service was awesome, and the food is to die for! I ordered the seafood soup and haven’t tasted anything better. Definitely happy we tried it!
Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Easily the best meal of our entire vacation. Highly recommend Gaylord’s
Bread and butter. Not long after you’re seated, hot rolls are plopped onto your bread plate. The delicious aroma doesn’t lie — the rolls are yeasty, chewy, marvelous. Tiny ramekins hold pats of creamy butter sprinkled with seasalt. The Caesar Salad was HUGE, more like a meal than a starter. Too much smoked salmon was draped across the romaine lettuce. Mahi mahi, grilled fish special of the evening, was perfectly grilled and light. I tried the steak and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the beef and the excellent flavor. Other reviewers have remarked on noises from the luau — yes, you can hear it but it’s better than the too-loud music drifting in from the piano bar. But that’s a minor complaint.Service was quick and correct.
Beautiful setting for dinner. Outdoor dining with love music, great food, and super friendly staff. Do not leave without ordering their coconut banana cream pie!! Beyond delicious!!
Not if you’re hungry. This lovely place was a favorite of mine for lunch. We went there today, however, and it was a sour experience. 35 to 40 minutes from sit-down to any of my food appearing on the table (although we did get the drinks we ordered). People at the next table arrived after us and got their food 10 or so minutes before us…while we starved. Waitress Rochelle fawned over them, treated us like we were from Molokai. But then, they were straight. One amazing thing: I had the chicken crepes and they were clearly made of shirt cardboard and filled with same. Where do you get shirt cardboard these days? Cost? 70 bucks for 2.
Food, service and outdoor dining atmosphere were all outstanding. Cesar salad with smoked salmon was one of the best salads I have ever had. Buttermilk fried chicken was delicious. Expensive but worth it!
