Aloha to yummy food and a good time. Spinachi, very yummy salad… There calamari with that mayo stuff, off the chain… There pizzas are great cooked in there brick oven…. If your thinking about going quit thinking and just go already….
Busy restaurant. We went here for the first time this Friday night. The food was good, the waitress fine. Had to ask for a clean water glass twice before I finally got a clean one.But what really set me off was listening to people trying to eat there and hear them being told to come back an hour or so later. All this while at the curved table near the bar that would probably seat 4-5 people, two female staff members sat drinking large glasses of beer. Had two glasses each while we were there and I bet they were free. They were still there when we left, an hour and half later.If I was the owner I would be p&&$ed that I was losing money on a table that could have paying customers.
Next time I’ll try someplace else. I was on the fence about whether to give this a like or dont like rating and decided on dont like because Ill be in no hurry to eat at Casanovas again. My mother, husband and I had lunch in the deli/take-out portion of the restaurant so this rating is for that and not the evening business. I ordered the eggplant and smoked mozzarella sandwich and was disappointed to find it consisted of one very thin layer of eggplant slices and an equally thin layer of cheese. In other words, there wasnt much to the sandwich except for the focaccia bread I ordered it on, which fortunately was tasty. My husband and I split a Greek salad which looked fresh and beautiful, but was about as bland as it could be, especially since it contained neither feta cheese nor onions and the dressing was an uninspiring balsamic vinaigrette. What kind of Greek salad omits the feta, thinly sliced onions and Greek dressing? As for the service, the man behind the counter did not respond well to our questions about the prepared (but not labeled) entrees and the woman that took our order wasnt friendly, although she wasnt openly rude either. On the plus side, my mother enjoyed her turkey sandwich which had slices of real turkey breast. My experience was perhaps a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10, and Ill certainly try another option (there are many) the next time Im in Makawao.
Good scallop pasta. Pretty good wine selection (although theydon’t serve it at best temperature). But don’t go on 4th Friday unless you’re reared for poor service, and good people-watching opportunities!
We had a pizza, ravioli and lasagna and all of it was delicious. Excellent service, nice ambiance, highly recommended.
Death by truffle. Got the ravioli, nearly choked on the amount of white truffle was in it. ravioli was tough. eww.
