An Old Fashioned Steak House in Waikiki. Kind of out of place with all the Asian fusion and other $$$$ restaurants in the Waikiki area, Chuck’s Cellar is reminiscent of the old-style steakhouses I recall growing up on the East Coast. Dark and woody, all that was missing were the martinis and cigarettes. Chuck’s really is a cellar, you descend down a flight of stairs to enter. It was a great dining experience. For 40 bucks (reasonable), I got an excellent salad bar, delicious sauteed mushrooms, and a 12-oz prime rib that was cooked to specs. It was moist and flavorful. They were a little skimpy with the au jus, but quickly compensated for this minor gaffe. I hear the deserts (particularly the mud pie)are great, but I had no room in the tank. Highly recommend as a high-value steakhouse choise.

Great place!. We go to Waikiki at least once a year and we always make a point to eat at Chuck’s a couple times. Relaxing at the end of a day at the beach and the food is great and very consistent – which is what you want from a restaurant. Servers always remember us which is amazing since I know they see thousands of people in a year’s time. Live music, good drinks – a relaxing night!

The Sax Jazz Guy is good, but the service and food SUCK!!!. I went down to see the Sax player and waited forever for a poorly made drink and the food was over priced and the patatoe was cold, the salad bar looked picked over and old. T$6 beer had too much foam on top. The wait staff was rude and the mgr ingored me to the point that I thought that he was racist. There was no locals on the wait staff and to be in Hawaii, You don’t want to see all whites in a Hawaiian Waikiki Resturant One or two would be nice to see getting jobs.

Waiter was courteous but service incredibly slow…restaurant wasn’t even that crowded (8pm ties night) food was decent but not outstanding. Salad bar and soup were ok. Price of my filet was ok given the size of the cut. However it really was fairly devoid of taste. Oh, did I mention service was slow?

Best Restaurant in Waikiki. No BS tropical aloha tiki bird crap. Just great food and great service. They say FU to the tourist crap and provide great meals. The prime rib is great, the filet is outstanding, the sauteed shrimp, as well as mushrooms are awesome. Also get the mud pie at the end, it’s home made. Service is phenominal and the waitress Jessica is always a delight.

Time Stands Still. A throw back to the steak houses of the 70s. Soft lighting, live jazz and cozy booths bring diners to an era of steak houses past. The prime rib seasoned with Chuck’s secret spices keepi diners comng back. Get the 12 oz prime cut if you have a normmal appetite or the 19 oz prime cut if you’re straving. The fresh salad and soup bar comes with dinner. Get the steamed clams with garlic bread. The clam juice is amazing.
