Hatsuhana review. This 2 level restaurant was quite busy when we went, with mostly Asian patrons, suggesting to us that it must be pretty authentic. However we found it to be well below average.1. Limited menu – usual staples on a Japanese restaurant menu were missing such as Edamame. The option to order individual tempura items was not available.2. Expensive – as expected given the location (within the Hilton)3. Poor service – wait staff were curt and unfriendly. They were rude to people at an adjacent table. The food came out quite quickly but in a random order – the main courses were brought out shortly before the appetizers and the steamed rice came last of all. It all made sense when we were brought the bill – they automatically include a 17.5% gratuity, so there is no incentive to provide good service. 4. Food – average. The highlight was the butterfish but the accoutrements were sitting in thick mayonnaise. Similarly the jumbo shrimps were slathered with excessive mayonnaise making them very greasy. The pieces of tofu in the Agedashi tofu were too large.
