1/2 papaya, eggs Benedict. What a spectacular welcome back to the islands.
Food is good (but not spectacular). Views are great ( but so are other beachside restaurants). Service is horrible — waitstaff rushing around like it’s a greasy spoon diner, slopping coffee into your cup, only checking oin you once or so during a one hour dining experience, felt like we were bothering them whenever we asked for something, I could go on forever. Don’t mind paying a premium for a dining experience if it’s worth it — in the case of Hau Tree Lanai – go somewhere else to avoid frustration and disappointment. A Hawaii resident.
The chefs selection was delicious. Not too much food. Good to share the appetizer and salad with someone and let them get their own entree. The katsu style lobster and petite filet mignon were DELICIOUS! The service was excellent. We ordered a bottle of wine but when they brought it out we decided we wanted something darker so they took it back and the matre di was very helpful in selecting a good bottle. Great place to take a sweetheart on a special occasion or out of town guests.
Wonder Experience. I usually don’t spend a lot of money on Breakfast, But I was told that having at least one breakfast at this restaurant is so worth the money. I must say they were right, the experience was wonderful, the view was breath taking. Food was great and so was the service. You made my trip to Hawaii complete. Thank you Mirian Soldineer
Awful service .. Tasteless food
Brunch right by the beach under the hau tree. Call ahead to reserve seating with view. Breakfast menu is a bit on the heavy side, but great prep for a long day at the beach. Food prep technique is above par but not quite heavenly. Then again, you’d probably be interested for the view mainly.
Good service, not so good food! Great atmosphere but the food wasn’t worth the $$.
