My Friend and I had dinner here under the hau tree upon the recommendation of a friend who lives in Honolulu. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like we were special guests and the meal progressed at a nice comfortable pace, neither too slow nor too fast. We watched as other diners were treated equally well from a young man who just proposed to his girlfriend showing off the ring on one side to another group who were a small bridal party having their reception dinner. The setting was so tranquil and relaxing that soon I was at ease and enjoying every moment. For appetizers, our selections were Ahi Sashimi and Islander Crab Cakes – both delicious! Our Black Angus filets with Bearnaise sauce cut like butter, our red wine so aromatic, and everything was served with pleasure and pride. As we lingered over dessert and coffee, the waiter asked if we wanted to move to another table to sit nearer to the ocean. He set a clean pink tablecloth for us and poured more coffee. Even though the restaurant was clearing out, there was no pressure for us to leave. They were happy we were content to stay and allowed us the pleasure of enjoying the beautiful Hawaiian night. It is especially for this reason that I write this review. I cannot imagine a more lovely evening than being treated with such elegance and flair.
