This was one of the best meals we had in Waikiki. Service was awesome and the food was beyond high quality. We had prime rib and lobster. Caesar Salad dressings be table side. Bananas Foster also table side.
Amazing fine-dinning experience! The food was excellent. I hade the Hy’s garlic filet mignon. Didn’t care too much for the mashed potatoes, they were just there decorating my plate. The live entertainment really set the tone for a relaxing dinner.
I have eaten at Hy’s many times over the last 5 years. I went last night and was disappointed. The cheese bread has seriously declined. It was once a delicious temptation full of cheesy goodness. It is now dry, with very little cheese. Normally I can’t resist enjoying a second piece however not this time! Also the service was frantic and the waiters slimy and insincere. The mains meal was a good standard and tasty.
Great steakhouse in Waikiki!. Very high quality steak, beautifully cooked and excellent sides. Hy’s was a real highlight of dining in Waikiki such a change from hotals and burger joints. The staff were very helpful and gave excellent advice. I would recommend this one highly.

Worst Service ever; waiter with a bad attitude.. When we read the reviews about this restaurant & how bad the service there, we didn’t believe them until we went there. We talked with the manager just after 10 minutes since being seated. The manager was a good listener. However, he seemed not surprised at all about the behavior of the waiter. He didn’t do anything except talking with the waiter. We left immediately because we never ever pay a penny for a bad service.
Expensive but nice. We loved our meal here. It was to celebrate an achievement, so we were expecting it to be expensive. We sat in the library room, there was live music, and it was a lovely dinner. Definitely get the tableside Ceasar salad! It is very pricey, but we wanted a fine dining experience and we got it. If we find ourselves in Waikiki again, we would return.
