Located on Kuhio Avenue, this small McDonald’s is actually very similar to the typical McDonald’s found throughout the rest of America. There really wasn’t any different variations, and when my husband asked the staff why, they stated that it is simply because a lot of the people who buy food at McDonald’s here want to try more of the Americanized version (which makes sense, oddly enough). We came here a few times during our stay in Waikiki (ordering a McFlurry, Sweet Tea, and a sandwich), but as stated earlier, it really wasn’t any different than what you would get on the American mainland.
Maybe it’s because we are from a country where the standard of food is better but I wouldn’t even feed this crap to my dog. And a 20 min wait, never heard of that before for three microwaved burgers of highly processed ‘meat’
Their haupia pies are quite unique. The filling is creamy with a small hint of coconut. There are also small chunks of coconut jelly in the filling but I found them to be a bit mushy. Busy place with limited seating as this McDonald’s is on the smaller side.

Comfort food. It was nice to go to McD for regular food we are used to for a break from the wonderful island meals we enjoy when in HI. The staff here has always been friendly and the food fast as expected.
The drunken McD’s. Open 24 hours in party central. The place to go after downing a few over-priced mai-thai’s. Slur your way through you big mac order, and don’t forget to super-size that caffeine free drink (no one wants to be wide awake trying to pass out on a spinning bed). Goodtimes.
