Superior dishes. Great service. Lovely surroundings and outlook. Top of Waikiki was a wonderful five star experience for us. Even though we didnt get a window table it didnt particularly fuss us. We still had good view of the city and its wonders throughout as the restaurant slowly revolved. We were astounded at the quality of the dishes. We loved our appetizers, the poke, the day boat scallops, the rangoons and the brussel sprouts. The most surprising thing to me was the depth of flavour. Flavour abounded in every one of these dishes particularly the brussel sprouts which were beautifully cut and spiced. My entree – the cioppino – was an absolute triumph. This is one of the best seafood dishes I e had anywhere in the world. For a start, there was plenty of beautiful seafood. Shrimps, clams, fish, calamari, scallops and mussels. And not just one or two of each. At least three each in a beautiful tomato and garlic sauce accompanied by lovely cheese and herb encrusted bread. I was advised to take the sides and the advice was right. The market vegetables were beautifully flavoured. The rice was needed to mop up and eat the remainder of the beautiful broth. My companions were similarly taken with their meals, a duck pizza and ahi tuna on tofu. We had a pinot Grigio for our wine and it was a lovely accompaniment. Service was highly professional throughout from Nate and his colleagues. Its not cheap but Top of Waikiki offers a wonderful experience. Its the sort of place you must go to for that very special night out.
