A beautiful hidden gem, like a little piece of Japan tucked inside the Park Shore Hotel. Absolutely beautiful, authentic food – couldn’t fault a thing. The staff were very kind to take us through everything that was served, how it was prepared, and the best way to eat it. With this in mind, definitely a good place to start if you’re new to Japanese cuisine. An all round great experience 🙂
As authentic as it gets!If you want to go back in time and experience traditional Japanese food the this is the place. The Sushi is very small and elegant, there is no wasabi on the side, it’s placed under the seafood as they do in Japan. Naturally you are asked if you want wasabi or not. The Tempura was very good although we ordered Kate and the Lotus was under cooked or hard perhaps that’s how they do it. The batter was delightful and very crisp, we also had the broiled eggplant, wow how flavoursome.Never had Sukiyaki out of Japan it was so good and a pleasure to watch it being prepared at the table. We left nothing on the table including my giant bottle of Kirin Ichiban. The place is up the other end of the stop basically right behind Starbucks, near the Zoo. It was packed and full of Japanese, gave me and my family great pleasure eating there, the interior is very tired, but seems to be all original which makes it a real joy.
