Not cheap! But delicious. Definitely better than Outback. Full salad bar/rolls with ALL meals. Service was great, sat at open window and watched a free diver while eating. If you don’t mind spending extra vacation money, it’s a great dinner. Also, does NOT open until 5 or 5:30.
I ordered the steak and lobster. While at the salad bar I saw a pair of huge lobster tails coming out of the broiler and thought maybe I wanted to change my order. To my delight when the steak and lobster arrived, instead of the small rock lobster I was expecting (and which was printed on the menu) was one of the huge tails, broiled to perfection as was the accompanying sirloin, at the published menu price. The others in my party had the baby back ribs and the tenderloin kabob which were also excellent. Service was not bad…island time but not overdone. Value for the money is good. We will be back.
We visited the Bull Shed for dinner. Not fancy but the meat was good. Could have had a little more seasoning and some sort of veggie. The price was reasonable especially on the wine.
I haven’t missed at least one meal at this place every year for the past 21 years I’ve been visiting Kauai. The salad bar has improved over the years but still not as good Sizzler or Soup Plantation. The drinks are a bargain … $7 martinis and $6 JD and coke. Now I’m in a rut … I always order the garlic tenderloin and a baked potato. Tons of garlic but I lie awake most of the night belching garlic and after about 10 tums get some sleep. Lots of locals go here and lots of visitors. The Bull Shed is an institution on Kauai and shouldn’t be missed.
Scallops or rack of lamb? Always a delima, both amazing.
