I have eaten at The Golden Star for many years. Since my cousin worked there when I was in high school and I am now 64. I have eaten nearly everything on their menu and love it all. They have good service and good food. I have never had a bad meal. The waitresses are all pleasant and you merely have to ask if you need anything.
Outdated mid-70’s decour with sad excuse for Chinese food. Everything we ordered was terrible and was not fresh. Do your stomach a favor and skip this place.
Good value. We have been eating here for 15+ years and it remains one of our favorite places.. Lunch service is very fast and there are combos for everyone. I like the chicken stir fry. My favorite dinner order is the steak and shrimp stir fry. Don’t expect fancy, just great food, fair portions and reasonable prices.
Probably won’t be back for awhile. I enjoy their atmosphere and friendly staff. My family likes their version of General Tso’s Chicken (#11 on their menu’s combos.) Today when we were seated the hostess spilled water all over my husband. We understand accidents happen and she was apologetic. We waited for a server to come take our order so we could mention the fact that my husbands lap was thoroughly soaked. We watched several other diners get seated and have their orders taken but no one came to us. We already knew we were all getting the #11 so our menus were closed and stacked in the middle of the table, there could be no misunderstanding that we were still deciding.We waited a full ten minutes before we all got up and went to the register where all three servers were chatting together. I let them know we did not appreciate having water spilled all over my husband and then left alone with no one coming to take our orders for 10 minutes. They were not so busy that they couldn’t stand at the register visiting, but they were too busy to come take our order.Accidents happen, and we are not mad at the hostess. We were upset that they ignored us after that happened.
Daniel and Charmaine Martinez. Golden Star is the only Chinese Restaurant we ever go to! We love their food, especially the special fried rice. We have tried others but always return to Golden Star. I also love that grandma sits and greets guests sometimes. Thank you Golden Star!
