We had a good experience. Brittany, our server, was friendly and made good recommendations. Baby back ribs moist with plenty of sauce. The sauce is sweet with a bit of tang. My brisket was moist with just a thin layer of fat. Overall a positive visit.
So so BBQ lots of no no’s. I was in town on business and this place was close to my hotel. Hilton Garden Inn. I love BBQ and thought I would give it a try. I ordered the three meat combo. brisket. sausage. baby back ribs. the brisket was terrible. chewy tough. you could tell it was machine cut. a no no in my book. the sausage was even worse. it had a chemical taste. the worst. I almost left. they replaced the sausage with pulled pork which was pretty good. the ribs were also good. I am not a big fan of bbq joints putting sauce on my meats. I like to do that myself. and only if needed. I also discussed the sausage with the manager who explained that they recently changed vendors and we’re getting complaints. even my server acknowledged this. why wouldn’t you tell a customer this prior to placing their order? shame shame. the sides were good. did green beans and the slaw. liked them both. also the bbq sauce is good too. overall the meal was fair. the wines are fair too. did a pinot and it was warm/room temperature another no no. one more thing to mention is that they soak their woods in water. another no no. bbq 101. no wood soaking! on a positive note my server and the hostess were great very friendly and accommodating.
The pulled pork and baked beans were great. The price was average for a bbq joint. The downside was my brisket was chewy.
Goodwood is the worst steakhouse in Boise .
Great food and service as always. One of the best local restaraunts in town. If you are coming to visit don’t miss it. Love the pulled pork and a great kids menu.
Done right. Since I do my share of barbecuing, I am usually disapointed when I have it at a restaurant. Not so with Goodwood. The best barbecue on the menu is the brisket and the St. Louis ribs. The brisket is very tender and flavorful without crumbling to pieces. The St. Louis and babyback ribs were tender without being mushy, and came cleanly off the bone. Don’t forget to order the cole slaw (it outta be a law anyway if you are getting barbecue)…nice peanut overtones and not soggy. The barbecue is slightly sweeter than I prefer, but still very good if you like a little molasses flavor. The Texas beef ribs were also very good, I am just not a huge beef rib fan…sorry Texas. These people have really good barbecuing down to a science.
Dont like it. Had the burnt ends brisket sandwhich for lunch. Cold an flavorless. There was no smokey flavor at all. The service was ok. They messed up my co-workers order, but quickly fixed it. Overall marginal marks from top to bottom.
