Wow!. Ok I was really stand offish with going to tucanos. I come to the boise area once a month all year, and I’ve been eyeballing tucanos from afar. in dire need of something different I had to try it. when I walked in it was very noisy, adults, screaming babies. it had all the makings of a bad time. but when the first wave came in and carved me a piece of meat, all the noise faded and I heard angels sing. I would have taken a picture of the food but it couldn’t stay on my plate. the meat was awesome. the salad bar had a few gems but the real star was the meats. I will be going back again. thank you
If you’re looking for a place to spend a good amount of money this is the place to do it. Even though their buffet is lacking because it doesn’t offer much of a variety in food. The servers who come with samples of meat to your table will make up for it. Beware of the amount of salt they use, it is a little high for my taste and maybe for others as well. The service is fair. My boyfriend and I had a server who was very weird and made our encounter with her very awkward. I was however disappointed in their margarita. I ordered a patron margarita and was given a margarita that was too strong and was made with cheap tequila, but the price for that drink was close to ten dollars. I suggest stick to their sodas!
Food is a favorite for kids. Not great value but the food is good. Reservations are a joke. Make one and show up on time, you still get a pager and a lengthy wait.
Great for lunch or dinner. Business lunches are great. I take people here from out of town a couple of times a month for three years now. I ALWAYS get good reviews from them and when they are in town apart from my hosting I will get calls asking me ‘What place I took them too’. Dinner is a bit more money however they even ‘up the bar’ to make it worthwhile. Great atmosphere for business and my wife loves it. Just wish they were open on Sundays but perhaps the owners are religious and everyone deserves a day off. Restaurants are a difficult venture, a good or great restaurant is nearly an impossible venture. Nice job.
Every time I go here, experience is always good. Recommend you do the meat rotation BEFORE the salad bar

Its great!!. My family anticipates birthdays knowing we will be going to Tucano’s. I don’t understand why anyone would go here and order a steak….Go to a steak house. It’s the constant variety of meats and vegetables coming to your table that makes it special. You get your salad from a HUGE salad bar, sit down, flip your little marker to green and you are immediately brought one skewer after another of everything imaginable. You can have all you want, just ask if you like something the most. We have never been unhappy eating there. The only thing we have ordered off the variety served to you is their special shrimp. They were fantastic.Apparently unhappy people are used to eating in New York with Paris Hilton. We eat locally and this is one of the best places we have ever been to in the area.The only thing I ask of them is do not sing to me on my birthday.I just LOVE this place!
