Find another restaurant. I had a chicken teriyaki bento box for lunch. The chicken was barely warm and it was dry, missing a teriyaki flavor. The several pieces of sushi, spicy tuna, were probably made the night before and sat in a refrigerator. They had the color and texture of red leather. My wife and I complained to the server. They offered to have us not bother paying. We ate little of it and left without paying. I’ve never had worse.
Worse sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to. The staff was rude and shorted me when we went to pay. My husband’s roll was small and not worth $12 they charged. My Bento was small with too much sesame seed sprinkled on it. The teriyake chicken was burnt and I cut the inside of my mouth on a piece. Usually I will give a place a second try after a bad experience but not this place!
I went here because it was really close to where i was. I’ve given this place a few trys hoping that the sushi would improve but it didn’t. Each time the rolls weren’t rolled tight and everything just fell apart. They drenched each different roll in a different sauce until the sushi was soggy. I felt the sushi was really overpriced for how poor the quality was. From now on I’ll burn the gas driving to shiges.
Absolutely yummy!. Visiting Boise again and stopped by for dinner. If you love sushi and haven’t been to Ahi yet, you are missing out. I’ve eaten my fair share of sushi, and Ahi tops the list for freshness. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. Everyone who sat at the sushi bar ordered the edamame. And for good reason – nice fat beans and full pods. (Oh, and heard nothing but groans of delight from fellow diners) The Ahi Poke martini is to die for. Big, fresh chunks of tuna accompanied by a sesame seaweed concoction. The smoked salmon is perfect and plump. Please … if you love sushi, visit this restaurant!02 Oct, 2011Fresh, fresh Sushi!. We discovered Ahi Sushi Bar quite by accident – a simple Internet search for a place nearby. It is located in a somewhat-business-parkish area. However, once you step inside, you forget what’s outside. Nice ambience with carefully selected decor. There is a sushi bar and tables – both inside and outside. They offer Bento boxes and many different appetizers. However, the main event here is the sushi! We were very impressed with the freshness and flavor. They don’t try to hide behind a lot of rice … you taste fish. And oh is it good! Lots of different beers and enough wines to satisfy. If you haven’t yet visited Ahi, make haste and get there … you will not be disappointed!
Best Sushi Around!. Sushi is always my go to food type for eating out and I’ve been to everything Boise and Eagle have to offer. Ahi is my favorite for both fish quality and roll selection. The yellowtail nigiri is amazing and a must order for myself and my husband. I also can’t enough of their A – Bomb roll (yellowtail and samon with cilantro and avocado topped with a basil jalepeno cream sauce). The sushi bar has a fun atmosphere and the sushi chef’s haven’t let us down by serving their off the menu recommendations.
