Sorry, but it is not what my friends and I expected. The atmosphere is so uninviting. Was there right before they celebrated the renovations/opening. …

I’m an Eagle girl so I will always go to Rembrandts. But it’s hit or miss. I had a perfect cup of coffee this morning and that deserves my praise!
Sometimes OK. A week ago I had the half sandwich and cup of soup. The soup was very tart tomato and the sandwich was dry! Nothing on a old and dry piece of dark bread but a slice of turkey, It was not good so I returned it and ordered another sandwich which was OK, not great. It is a good place to just sit and people watch if you have time, or are waiting. Usually the pastries are good.
Enjoyable. Rembrandt’s is an enjoyable eclectic place to have a nice cup of coffee. I haven’t had any food items so, I can’t comment there. It’s an old church with a modern coffee bar. The main alter has been transformed to encompass a modern coffee roaster which is used to produce some really good coffee. The restaurant/seating area is very relaxing and is equipped with coffee tables, old church pews, chairs and couches. It has a nice outside patio including a fountain and nice foliage. I would definitely recommend it.
Great place, except… Th…. Great place, except…They ALWAYS run out of coffee! How can a coffee house not have any brewed coffee available? Be prepared to sit and wait 10-15 minutes at some point in your visit. Either before your first cup, or in between your first and second cup. Never fails.
Close….needs work. Okay, so I hope they listen to this review. I travel A LOT and I love trying certain dishes everywhere I go. Eggs Benedict is one of them. This was my first try at Rembrandts. Overall…nice place and seems like good people. But I am not a fan of places that make you order at a counter and then go sit. I like having wait staff. No I am not a yuppie- quite the opposite. I am an uber-liberal, tree-hugger who does not need to be waited on. However, when you bother to have a wait staff it means two things: you care about your customers; and you bother to employ people. I sat and watched over and over and over and over as runners stood staring around the room trying to find numbers that matched food in their hands. Twice they came to our table trying to give us things that were not ours. ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And this defect may be the cause of my main complaint…..HEAT!!!! It was the theme of the place. Too much in the room and none in the food! PLEASE correct this because you have AMAZING food!!! You have the best hollandaise in boise! I have tried EVERY place, as of now, that serves bennes and yours is best (sans the slice of deli ham- whats up with that? There is good local ham people!) I love the extra cayenne! Potatoes were flavored wonderfully. BUT…and here it comes….the hollandaise was ICE cold. Not warm, not room temp- COLD!!! It tasted so good! But you have no WAIT staff to send it back with and the counter was overrun with people ORDERING. NO SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!! The potatoes were way undercooked and not far from cold! But it was all so good. I ate it cold!! But the room was so hot I had to go to my car and change shirts!! Oh and what is up with no little side of potatoes with the benne? I had to pay and extra $3 for a way oversized order of uncooked potatoes- with great flavor. Most places give you a small hand full of taters as part of the order. I did not need a giant plate of potatoes for a side and at $3!So, hire some wait staff for your busy breakfast shifts and let folks order at the table!!! Cook your food and heat your food and you would have me every weekend!!!! And lower the heat in the room! Nice place though!
Nice atmosphere, and usually busy, but QC needs a real shake up. Waiting 25 mins for a coffee is never acceptable, and getting the order wrong twice in a row is not either. Just pay attention when I order and get me a decent coffee in a decent time and you have a winner on your hands. Not difficult guys.
Nice Atmosphere…. I love the atmosphere of this place and the coffee/food isn’t to bad either! The only thing lacking here at times is the customer service : ( When I’m paying $4-5 for a slice of coffee cake I expect to be asked if I’d like it warmed up!?! I also love that they’ve partnered with Girl Scouts to help the older girls earn money for their destination trips!
