Excellent Japanese Cuisine. Having studied Japanese culture for over 20 years, I am very familiar with what is good Japanese food and what is not. Wasabi will not make you think that you’re in a small sushiya in Shinjuku, but it is hands down the best Japanese food in SE Idaho and one of the top 10 restaurants in IF. The service is excellent and the food is well made. When looking for Japanese cuisine, freshness, taste, and technique matter. Wasabi hits on all three whilst the other two Japanese restaurants in IF fail in my opinion.Our go to meals areTonkatsu with bulldog sauce (breaded pork cutlet)Spider crab rollnigirizushi – saba (mackerel)and pretty much everything else. The food here is of a high and consistent quality.You know that a Japanese restaurant is good when you can ask for natto, fermented beans with onions and shoyu, and they have it. It’s not on the menu and not for the faint of heart.The owners and staff will remember you and care that you have a good meal and a good time.
