Tried big daddy’s for first time today. Will start positive. Pulled pork I enjoyed. Potato salad and coleslaw pretty good. Chicken was just ok. But ur brisket (and I’m not totally knocking it I ate several pcs) needs work. Try cutters grand BBQ if u want really great brisket.
Meridian Drive Thru. Here is a copy of a letter I just sent to them. I hope the Meridian store hears about it:Went thru your drive thru in Meridian tonight. 7pm. What a disappointment.First. You need to update your menu, as your prices are WAY off. You upped the price of one of your combos by $10?I was told off the bat, you had no brisket, no beans, no mashed potatoes, and no salad. How does a restaurant run out of salad? And a BBQ place with no brisket?I looked at this online menu before coming. It says you get 4 bones with your ribs, I got 3. They were great but not whats expected. I also had pulled pork. I was asked if I wanted sweet or spicy sauce or both. I said sweet… I got NONE! Again, the pork was great but bone dry with no sauce. A BBQ place that forgets to give you BBQ sauce? I must also mention that the mac and cheese was cold and dried up in it’s cup. Had to wonder how old it was. Could even give me a piece of bread either? What a complete FAIL!And….I got ALL THIS for a mere $16??It’s very sad. With practices like this… I doubt you’ll still be in business by the end of the year.I won’t be back and I’m sure the 100+ people at my work that hear about this tomorrow won’t be either.Good luck.
Today was my first time trying Big Daddy’s BBQ. My husband brought home pulled pork sandwiches with a variety of sauces and sides. I tried the cole slaw and the mac and cheese. The pulled pork was good and moist but could have used just a tad bit more smoke. I tried the Carolina and sweet bbq sauces on my sandwich, both were amazing! The cole slaw was the best I’ve had at any restaurant. The mac and cheese was phenomenal! It was cheesy and creamy and the bacon was not overwhelming.I can’t wait to go there again.
Real BBQ. I love it when people compare a REAL BBQ joint to Famous Dave’s HA. You actually think THAT is BBQ?
Meaty, tasty ribs- employees that care!. Everyone at Big Daddy’s made us feel like we were one of the family. Accompanying this great service were some seriously good ribs that were meaty, tender, (not dry at all) and had great flavor. To tailor the meat to your taste- Big Daddy offers 3 sauces: Carolina, Sweet and our favorite: Hot. Mama’s side dish offerings are what you would expect: Coleslaw, Beans, Potato Salad and the like. If you are craving some BBQ, head over to Big Daddy’s- I don’t think you will be disappointed.
Good Ribs, everything else not so good.. Spent over $30 there to get a small order of food that could not feed two people. The ribs were good, but the mac and cheese tasted as if it was microwaved and the brisket was not brisket. The meals come with two pieces of toast which were obviously store bought (Wonder Bread). The service was not as friendly as I hoped, I don’t think I will be going back. For five bucks more I was able to get great service and an entire family meal with freshly cooked biscuits at Dickey’s. Also, when I spend over $30 at Famous Dave’s I get full, I was still hungry after this place. Waste of money. The ribs are worth a try though.
Pulled Pork. Pulled pork is my all-time favorite barbecue item, and Big Daddy’s is very good. Whether you like the crispy bits, the tender and juicy bits, the fatty bits, or the chewy jerky-like bits, all are represented here.24 Feb, 2011Ribs. Nice and blackened on the outside, pink and juicy on the inside. What more do you need? goodtastebadtaste.com
