Poor Excuse for Mexican Food. Steam tabled, enchilada sauce laden ridiculously priced garbage. Went in to try out the place and was absolutely starving. After eating maybe 1/4 of the burrito, walked out hungry. Can’t say that has happened to me but a handful of times throughout my life. Then again, not too many places in Ada county serving real Mexican food.
Love that sweet pork…. So good my hubby used to work near this restaurant and would bring it home as a treat. I will miss this place so much after I move. ;( Can you ship sweet pork burritos to Seattle?
This place is yummy! Fresh foods, unprocessed meats, and NO gluten- except for the tortillas of course, which are fabulous and freshly made if you can eat them. No pico? Not sure what that person was talking about. Yes, I can see how it could be on the sweet side. Way better than Baja Fresh, Quidoba or any made to order taco place for that matter. Pricey? Maybe. But seriously your order is so huge, you could share it!
Sweet pork is flavorful and tasty but everything else is bland and not to mention what a rip off in price. No salsa bar, thats not mexican food.
I hit it EVERY time I’m in town.. The sweet pork tacos kill it, every time. Whenever I’m in the Boise area, at least one meal happens at Costa Vida.
This is a chain where you order at the counter and they build you your meal, like Taco Del Mar. Unlike Taco Del Mar, or most Mexican restaurants in America, they make fresh tortillas using a dough press and a rotating skillet, and rather than a steamer or a microwave the use a belt-fed oven like some pizza places. This is a much nicer solution for things like Enchiladas or nachos. The service was extremely friendly and good. Food was passable for what it was, although nearly everything was a tad too sweet. They have horchata in the soda fountain and Cholula, so that’s nice too.
I just can’t say enough about how good the sweet pork burritos are. Never disappointed here!
