Seriously some of the best food in boise! My man is a meat eater and I’m vegetarian, this place has the best of both worlds! My honey raves about their ribs and pulled pork! We both love their butternut 6 and vegan chilli! Great prices! Awesome service! New local favorite!!
Just got back from my first BBQ4Life experience. Just WOW! The tri-tip sandwich was ample, succulent and cooked to perfection. Great job on the potato salad, not too much salt, just the right amount of mayo with crunchy celery & onion. Loved the green chili pork with corn soup, although they could have held back a little on the salt. The vegan country beans were actually navy beans with a sweet tomato sauce and dashes of yellow pepper. Companions had equally delightful meals and we all came back to work with leftovers. Definitely going back!!
SO dang GOOD. The things these people do with butternut squash are epic. Have a big sandwich but also have a cup of soup. You won’t regret it. It’ll taste healthy – the good kind of healthy that refreshes you and sets you right, but then go ahead and have the broodwich; pulled pork with mac and cheese on Hawaiian bread, grilled and served with maple syrup. You’ll die and go to heaven.
Good for Vegans, Meat eaters not so much. We went in for some ribs and were served smoked but uncooked ribs. You could not SAW the meat off the bone. Even smoked meat has to be cooked. It has to be dangerous to serve under-cooked pork. The sides were no better. Mac and cheese (Kraft in a box) with hot sauce, day old slaw, uncooked, unseasoned brussell sprouts. The service was excellent and the prices were great but the food we had was pretty awful.
The feel of the restaurant makes me feel as if I was in a 1960’s movie based in the very remote country. Though the atmosphere is odd, that’s not my biggest worry. I had the Broodwich sandwich with a side of walnut butternut squash. The Broodwich is pulled pork (smothered in MFT BBQ sauce), and Mac and cheese which is served up monte cristo style and drenched in maple syrup. I did enjoy each compiteng by themselves, but together, they did not mix well. They do offer this sandwich on a Hawaiian bun, which I could imagine would be better, but the way it comes with maple syrup is just an extremely oodd combination that is barely paletable. I will try this place again, but will do something that doesn’t have maple syrup on it
