A unique vibrant friendly atmosphere! This coffee shop isn’t like any others you will find in Boise. The coffees have very unique name’s with great flavor. I love that if you choose their regular coffee you get free refills and they have a variety of things to add to your coffee like cream, milk, soy, cinnamon, sugar, honey and lots more choices. The food comes in HUGE portions and is very reasonable priced. I love that the tables are big and ment for guest to mingle and interact. Its a great way to meet new people and start a conversation with someone you don’t know and other wise wouldn’t talk to. Big City Coffee reminds me a lot of Portland,OR and their uniqueness.
Big City is definitely one of the best breakfast restaurants in Boise. They have a large menu; DIVINE, creative pastries made fresh every day; and their scrambled eggs are so fluffy, you could use them as a heavenly pillow. Yes, I know, weird visual, but it’s the best way I can describe their egg texture. The only reason I didn’t give Big City five stars is due to the fact that it’s ALWAYS crowded and difficult to find a table = they need a larger space. Plus, the logistics of the place are confusing and awkward: you have to order at the front counter and there’s no place to stand in line where you aren’t in the way/being elbowed by someone or your bum is right in the face of another customer sitting at a nearby table. After ordering and paying at the front counter, you have to shuffle your drinks, pastry, and order identifier thingy with you while you fight for a place to sit amongst the crowded tables. When your food is finished, the servers have to search the place looking for you/your order identifier and it’s so crowded, I’ve had cold eggs before because it took our server a while to navigate the crowd and find us. It’s a shame because I’d go to this place a lot more often, but I’ve been skipping it lately because of the claustrophobic atmosphere and long wait. However, if you are an early morning person, I bet you’d have no problem getting a table here. A few times, we’ve just grabbed one of their delightful pastries/coffee to go. Still, please try Big City because their food really is worth the crowded space and awkward ordering/table searching process. Plus, their scones, muffins, bread, cookies and other pastries will satiate even the most refined pastry lover’s palate!
Over 30 minute wait for a to go order of fruit and granola… Pass unless you have time to kill.
This place is no longer enjoyable. You can’t move or enjoy the small space without being bumped over and over. This is not the place for a relaxing coffee and breakfast w friends anymore.
The best breakfast!. We ordered the biscuits and gravy! Best ever!! Yummy
Unbelievable. That’s all
A Little Different. Yep, kind of has the whole hipster atmosphere thing going, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I went here for lunch during the week so it was not very busy. Ordered (and got eventually) a breakfasty burrito covered in white gravy. Not busy so not quite sure why service was so slow, but turned out to be worth the wait. Was a lot of food so probably shouldn’t have eaten the whole thing, but was very tasty. Nice presentation as well.Did think this would be an awesome place to go people watching. Generally a very positive experience so would recommend unless you hate being around twenty-somethings.
