Just not a wow. Went there for easter dinner, food was very bland. Service was just ok…. expected much more for a $400 tab.

Not impressed…. My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner and were sorely disappointed by the food at Cafe Vicino. I had the special of the night – salmon with clams and my husband had a pasta dish with clams. We also started with a very simple brie appetizer that was tasty and probably the best part of the meal. The atmosphere and service were great but the meals fell short. My husband and I cook a lot and felt that we could have easily created better dishes at home. Another negative is that this experience cost us nearly $100.

Yes, pricey, but so worth it. Had an incredible meal! Asked for a side of their hand made pasta to start and it was a meal unto itself. Everyone in my party was very happy by dessert (which was amazing, too).

Just a bit under-seasoned, but everything is cooked splendidly. Relaxing atmosphere & a good value for the money.

Par food. It was overpriced and our two pasta dishes were bland. In addition, the service was sub-par and the atmosphere was stuffy.

Excellent. The dinner, wine, dessert and service are the best in Boise.

Calm, Collected & Delicious. Cafe Vicino is a wonderful Italian restaurant. The decor is stylish and quiet. The service is experienced and friendly. We go there for special occasions given that a meal for two with wine and appetizers is around $100+. It is worth the price just for the food let alone the relaxing decadent experience. We love the scallops appetizer and the stuffed figs. I find it hard not to order the prosciutto wrapped chicken breast entree every time. Generally, I try to stay away from a chicken main course at restaurants because most places over cook it and what you end up with is stringy and dry. Cafe Vicino’s dish is moist and delicious. It sits a top yummy polenta and is topped with a delicious grape sauce. My husband loves the pasta sheets cannelloni style and the steak with the gorgonzola souffle. We have always been pleasantly satisfied with our visits. They are locally owned and switch up the menu frequently. Definitely a great place for a full meal but I know others like to visit just for a glass of wine and a couple of apps for a light meal. I’d recommend a reservation if the night is important to you.
