This is one of the places that makes Boise great. Juniper is on my short list of where to go when you want great ambiance and fresh local ingredients prepared to perfection. Taking nothing away from the perfect temperature ribeye special, I can’t stop raving about the Juniper chopped salad with tangy pickled veggies. Thanks Cassie for the excellent service tonight.

Give this Newbie a Chance. My friend and I had dinner here and have a great time- we started with a cocktail, the server being knowledgable and able to make suggestions based on our preferences. Then we ordered the local cheese and fruit plate- I’m wasn’t a cheese a fruit plate type of person until that moment. Local cheeses with bread (of course) but there a couple of gems on this plate as well. Pickled grapes (don’t knock em’ til you try them) and candied bacon pecans paired well with our cheeses and were a cool surprise. I ended up having the brat with purple kraut and mustard, just to keep it simple. Delicious. Perfect amount of food. I’m not a big person so it might not be enough food for someone else, but that’s why you have appetizers and dessert, right? All in all, I’ll definitely go back. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Another gem for downtown Boise.

Juniper Restaurant Downtown Boise. Went for lunch – ordered the salmon. While tasty, the portion was way too small for the money and they should have served bread or rolls or something while waiting for the meal. My friend ordered the burger and said the bun was stale and the sandwich was so messy, she had a hard time eating it. Could have used a larger and fresher bun. We were very underwhelmed and will most likely not go back.
