My husband and I had an INCREDIBLE experience at Alavita’s. The food was perfect, delicious, and beautiful. The wait staff was friendly, we sat at the bar and had a great time! Steve was attentive, friendly, and extremely helpful. We will definitely be frequenting this place!

The real deal in Boise. My italian husband and I are very picky when it comes to italian food. Our dinner tonight was impressive. We had the burrata app and it was amazing!! Creamy and flavorful. We split the chopped salad which was dressed nicely and full of goodies. We ordered the chicken Marsala, black ravioli with shrimp and lobster And the tagliatelle with bolognese sauce and ricotta. Each dish was just as good and authentic as the next. Way better than the meal we had at asiagos a month ago. If you want authentic and delicious meal go to alavita!

Disappointing. I ordered the angel hair pasta with grilled chicken. The chicken was fine. The pasta was linguini, not angel hair and was clumped together. Ate the chicken, but left most of the pasta.

Sadly disappointed. I really wanted to love this place. It is next door to Fork which is a solid 4.5 star location and I expected the same. Our meal started out impressively with the Buratta which is quite good. The basil sea salt makes this dish. Our accompanying cocktails were perhaps the best part of the meal – imaginative and complex. $9 each, but I don’t mind paying for thoughtfully developed and crafted food/drink.Sadly our entrees were a huge letdown. I had the pappardelle with bolognese. I could tell my pasta was made fresh but was overcooked (no texture) and lacked seasoning. The bolognese was serviceable, but nothing special… overly rich and with the mushy pasta made for a dish that became inedible after a few bites. Worse yet was my wife’s dish which was the angel hair pasta with shrimp. Surprisingly, the angel hair pasta was cooked perfectly and the well balanced sauce was a nice complement, but the shrimp were so tough and dry they HAD to be pre-cooked and reheated. There is no other explanation for how tough these shrimp were. I’ve cooked a lot of shrimp, and I’ve overcooked my fair share – but I have never created anything like these. It’s as though they bought some pre-cooked shrimp cocktail ring from a grocery store and heated them up in the microwave to serve to us.We don’t usually order dessert, but I wanted to give Alavita a chance to end on a high note. We ordered the flourless chocolate torte to share and although it was fine, it was nothing special. I’m certain this is a dessert they buy pre-made. You could easily buy as good or better in a plastic box at Whole Foods for half the price. In short, there are FAR too many great restaurants in Boise to waste your money in this place. You can cook better pasta with tastier sauces at home for less than $17/person. The drinks are pretty good though, so drop in and sit at the bar and have a couple. Maybe try the Buratta – but stay away from the entrees.

Fabulous Thursday Night at Alavita. Service was impeccable. Tickets were a bit delayed and out of order and they REALLY made it right. They bent over backward to make us happy, and we already were! The food was fantastic. I’ll be going back often!
