Shige’s used to be the best sushi in town but after two terrible experiences and being treated very poorly by the wait staff, including arguing, and Luke warm green tea, I refuse to go back.
Seriously nasty food and bad service. After asking for a spoon for my soup she said to slurp it from the bowl. I can live with bad service but nasty stinky fish is NOT acceptable. Do yourself a favior and avoide this place
We only got drinks here, but the gal that poured for us was so awesome. They were closing and she still was so great. We would have stayed there all night if we could have.
Meh. I had heard so much about this place I thought I would check it out with a friend. Service was good. Food, maybe average. I tried several different rolls and it wasn’t all that great. Probably won’t be back to eat again.
Avoid this restaurant!. Just had a 3 hour dining experience at this place and its 3 hours of my life I would like back. The food was below average at best, but the service might be the worst I’ve ever had. I would strongly reccommend any restaurant but this one for japenese food in boise. Oh forgot to mention its 10 degrees in Boise and the heat in this place sucks! I would like to give a shout out to our teppan chef Johnny though. He did a great job and was pleasant.
Meh. Not so good. Fujiyama is much better.
Let’s start off with the positive: the waitress was awesome, very engaging and personable, the Salmon Teriyaki was absolutely delicious and the highlight. The not-so-good: the rock and roll eel rolls were okay, I’ve had better sushi at Sakana’s in Meridian. The bad: the gyosa. I’ve had better gyosa from the frozen foods aisle at Albertson’s. Overall, decent experience. The waitress and the Salmon Teriyaki made it worthwhile. Also, the atmosphere was okay. The lighting was a bit too dim and it doesn’t help to have the main entrance so close to the dining area when it is freezing outside. Might go back for the Salmon Teriyaki.
