OMG. Dirty, literally no service. One group leaving (the only customers in the entire place) and still no service. All the help were too busy entertaining themselves. Too bad because I love Greek food but not here, sad experience all the way around.
Being from NJ, we wondered if Idaho would ruin what we know as a Gyro.Tables are closer together than I’d like, so I would suggest a booth if you can get it. Very casual outside dining, covered for shade.We arrived on a busy Saturday afternoon. They were either short staffed or didn’t expect a crowd. We could see our waitress was frustrated with having to be not only seating hostess, cashier, waitress and then back of waitress for the only other waitress temporarily missing in action. She did a great job, kept a smile on her face and apologized for any delay.GYROS: We had the regular gyro with feta cheese added. I’ve never had the add feta cheese on a gyro before. What a great addition. The gyro was excellent. Sometimes in NJ at fairs, the food truck gyro is made with ranch dressing. The gyro at Grecian Key was authentic, made with a cucumber sauce.Pita was soft and fresh. Meat spiced nicely and delicious. My only negative was I would have liked a little more onion (just my taste).FRENCH FRIES: We ordered a basket of steak fries. Average. I would love to return, but probably won’t be back to Pocatello until next year.
I like it too! I am by no means an expert in Greek cuisine, however the food, the atmosphere, and the service were great.
This place is a total surprise! Based on curb appeal, I might have kept driving…but a local said it was great and I trusted her enough to venture in. I am certainly glad that I did! The inside is older and definitely eclectic, but remember you are there to eat, and not to necessarily enjoy the decor. Regardless, I eat the soulvaki and spanikopita whenever I can. The staff are friendly and genuinely caring- this spot is definitely a diamond in the rough. You must try it!
Food was good, but the ambiance and wait time were bad. Wow..this place is 30 years old and sure looks like it..lol. Worst dated decor ,ever! And the wait time was not good.But the nice surprise was that the food was pretty decent. Not the best I’ve had, but fun to have a pretty good Greek place in Poky.I’d go back, but between the cheesy dated decor, horrible music and the wait time, I think I’ll order to go next time.
Like it. Grecian Key is a great place to eat in Pocatello. It is some of the best greek food I have eaten…ever. Most of the time my wife and I split the Greek Sampler and we are both always full at the end. The staff is fantastic. If it is a busy night the food does seem to come out a little slow but it is always a great time there. I highly recommend Grecian Key.
Good lunch spot. I’ve been to Grecian Key numerous times and it’s my Greek restaurant of choice in Pocatello. I really like the Chicken Souvlaki lunch special and the cottage fries. I would prefer to order off their lunch menu for dinner as well because I prefer the simplicity and somewhat smaller portions – as I’m already stuffed off of the lunch portions. Service has always been excellent when I go here.
