This place was packed on a Saturday night around 7:30. The waitstaff was a little flustered and aloof as they rushed around people’s rolls to them. We waited 15 mins to be seated at the bar. The chairs were big and comfy..but they were seated low to the ground.. it felt like we were miles away from the counter. The rolls were good off of menu C…the menu A selections were kind of baby rolls ie, shrimp/creamcheese in rice sort of things. The snowball roll was delightful, but overall the rolls were very simple and very american. A few times our sushi chef blew us off and it was bewildering what exactly was going on behind the counter. The price was 18.99 for ayce, so I could never complain about the price, but again, you get what you pay for. If you want cheap and simple rolls, sushi ya is the place for you!
When we showed up, the place was packed. took a few minutes to get a seat. The price for all you can eat was awesome! I’m used to paying 25 to 30 a person. the rolls were great, the service was good. found myself re-asking for stuff that they forgot about. it was busy so I understand. it did seem like avocados were in 95% of the rolls. not a fan btw. but everything was good especially for the price. I really liked the snowball roll. the house sauce was really good and different. I will go back again.
All You Can Eat. I’m a sushi FANATIC, and I love Sushi Ya! What I love about them is they have the basics (california roll, spicy tuna/salmon rolls, etc) – but they really shine with their specialty rolls. AND you will be hardpressed to find all-you-can-eat-sushi anywhere in the US that offers specialty rolls on both the lunch all you can eat menu (cheaper but fewer specialty items) and the dinner all you can eat menu (tons of specialty items and still under $20/person).Best Rolls to try for those new to sushi (or are looking for something cooked):Godzilla Roll (spicy and cooked, and amazing)Crystal Shrimp Roll (sweet, cooked, and delicious)*I’ve taken many sushi virgins to Sushi Ya, I always tell them to get these two rolls and they’ve always LOVED them. For those more daring (okay with the raw stuff):Rocky Mountain Roll (personal favorite – it’s the crystal shrimp roll with raw fish on top, kind of a crystal shrimp roll mixed with a rainbow roll – SOOO GOOD!)Rainbow Hand Roll (for those of you who really like the raw stuff – they put a ton of it in this handroll)My Top 3 Rolls in Order:Rocky Mountain (biggest, most expensive of the 3, comes on dinner AYCE but not lunch AYCE)Godzilla (tons of flavor and I like that it’s a bit spicy – can get this during lunch or dinner AYCE)Crystal Shrimp (everyone loves this one, has a great sweet sauce, can get during lunch or dinner AYCE)
Not Good. I don’t understand why this place is so busy. Maybe people in Twin Falls have never tasted good sushi… The fish did not taste fresh at all. I was very disappointed.
Great variety.. Love sushi and this place had a great selection. Our kids loved the bento boxes. Everything tasted fresh and flavored well.
LOVE!. The best sushi I’ve ever had! I was very skeptical to try sushi till a friend invited me out to dinner at Sushi YA. I loved it!! Every roll I tried was yummy and fresh. After realizing I like sushi, I’ve tried other establishments in town and nothing is even comparable. I’ve become a Sushi Ya regular eating there at least once every two weeks or so. Customer services is also very important to me and they have always provided me with excellent customer service. If I was forced to give one ‘con’ I’d mention that the parking lot is small but the secret is to just not even try the parking lot and park on the side street.
Yum!. Best sushi in the area. Owner is very friendly and makes sure her restaurant is running smoothly. Definitly recommend!
