I have passed this place many times on my way home and didn’t think much of it… Recently my boyfriend and I were interested in trying some pho. We chose the closest place and definitely got lucky! It’s a great spot – small and simple. The food was delicious and well priced. It will definitely be a restaurant we visit often!
Very tasty. I’ve driven by many times but actually stopped in to get soup to go one day when I was sick. I didn’t really know what Pho was but had a general idea. It’s awesome! Broth, fresh noodles, lots of vegetables and meat of your choice to add (steak, brisket, pork, chicken, shrimp, etc). Very nice service – I’ve been back again and will continue to go!
Great Pho. Great bowl of Pho Tai…excited to go back and try more menu items
Great location, friendly and prompt service. Fresh vegetables. Could use some outside seating. Very clean.
Best pho in Boise!. This little restaurant near Capital High School serves homemade pho and a variety of rolls. The menu is fairly limited at the moment — pho tai, pho tai nam, pho tai nam gan, pho tai nam bo vien, and so on. The broth is rich without being thick or over-sweet. The sliced beef is obviously hand-sliced, and the meatballs are delicious. Don’t expect much in the way of decorations or ambience. However, these things are part of the authentic pho experience, to me — lots of sauces on the formica tables, plenty of napkins, and mom and pop in the kitchen cooking. Decoration takes a backseat to food here. The rolls are excellent, not relying too heavily on rice noodles for filler, using lettuce and bright mint instead. Try the shrimp, Chinese sausage, and egg rolls! They’re a wonderful riff on traditional goi cuon.Pho Bac also serves a variety of drinks other than the standard water, soda, and hot tea. The iced Vietnamese coffee is delicious.Excellent food, authentic atmosphere — absolutely five stars from me.
