A fabulous BYOB find tucked away on the obscure stretch of Elston. Clean, lively, dimly lit. Perfect for an adventurous date. Inexpensive to boot. Ceviche to die for and so generously portioned. Loved the beef heart skewers and crispy potatoes that came with them. Warm bread with aji sauce is addictive. And seco de carne, Peruvian version of pot roast, was comforting on a chilly evening. I will go back in a heartbeat to try many other appealing things on the menu. Highly recommend.
Ahhhhhhhhmazing!. I absolutelyyyyyy love it here…very clean and authentic peruvian place! Have any questions from the wall decor to the menu, just ask the waiter or owner and they are more then welcome to answer any question…bc they are that pretty flippin awesome here..hence why not only, do they get 2 thumbs up and a cheesy smile but a regular satisfied customer!Ooh also gotta get the Inca cola
The food here is really really good. Not what you would expect when you look at the place from the outside. The flavor is bold. Great seafood. The Salmon & Shrimp Kabobs are great. It even tasted good when they delivered. Must for northsiders.
My Favorite Restaurant!!. This is an absolutely wonderful Restaurant. I love this place! The service is great. The food is amazing. Every time I go to Ay Ay Picante I fall in love with the place a little more. when you dine there, you can sense the fact that a lot of energy and care go into the operation. This is a terrific place with great food and wonderful people that offers amazing food at a reasonable price. Plus the BYOB factor is great.
Ceviche/Seafood Chicago. Fantastic ceviche, and each is utterly expressive of their respective styles.Tiradito — with a creamy leche de tigre sauce,Ceviche Mixto – a whole mount of rich seafood topped with red onions, Peruvian Corn, Sweet potato, marinated in lime juice called Leche de Tigre — is one profound, complex mouthful. My last discover was the seared salmon, seasoned just right, bit smoky with aromatic herbs. LOVE IT!!Service is great, at times we have more that one waiter taking turns to make sure we were ok, BYOB was helpful too, although we had an Argentinian wine for the night, it was fine, maybe next time i will try the peruvian wine.Dont forget the Hot Sauce…. spicy!!!Highly recommend this place, i will be back to try more dishes… oh, i like the monkey on the design, Nazca i heard.Romantic? YES!! who would not like candle lights with dinner? i do, and i loved it! my Baby was Happy!!
Romantic?????. Umm how is this place winning as chicago’s most romantic Valentine’s day spot? seriously…more romantic than Geja’s, il Mulino or sixteen? come on now….
Terrible service. While the dishes were tasty, I find that for the amount e spent on a meal for 3 the service should have been waaaay better. There were plenty of staff around, however they seemed a bit unfamiliar with the correct way to serve and they were unable to answer some questions. The aji sauce was uneventful..i was disappointed after seeing this place so hyped up online…the ambiance and service was not what I expected….
