I was brought up on Armand’s pizza in Elmwood Park, now I’m living in Houston. I read the reviews and I’m not sure what some are thinking. The pizza I recently had was fantastic – thanks Armand’s for keeping the tradition alive. I come back every time I’m in town.
They have the best stuffed artichokes. I like the restaurant.
Going downhill….. again. For more than 40 years we were regulars at the original Elmwood Park location. Slowly the attention to detail went downhill, burned pizzas, bad service and eventually everyone deserted it and eventually they went out of business. Were excited when new place opened in Arlington and for a few years it was good again. Sorry to say that once again it is going downhill. The difference is that with a more diverse, less demanding non Italian clientel it may be good enough. Pizza’s are inconsistent, service and delivery consistently bad and management makes promises they don’t keep; like credits for poor service. The overall feeling is one of people who just don’t care the way they did when the family ran the company. Too bad once was the best Pizza in Chicagoland
Not impressed. This is a far cry from the original location in Elmwood Park. The location is key for this place being successful not the food. Everything is forgettable a day after you go there.. My advice is to sit on the patio, have drinks and apps, and people watch! Skip the pizza and the entrees they will leave you unfulfilled.
The pizza there is awesome especially on half price pizza Monday! But the food there is not so great.
The best thing to get there is there pizza. Thin crust sausage pepperoni and cheese. Yum.
Bland. My chicken dish with artichoke hearts and capers was dry and bland. The sauce was more liquid than creamy lemon, and my salad was something like you would see in a pre mixed bag at the market. The baked clams we had for an app were dry and small. Admittedly the chicken cacciatore that one of us ordered was very impressive. Besides that, though, everything else missed the mark. None of us had the pizza, though and it seems like that is what they are known for.
