Great Food. Their food is fresh and delicious! Very nice women bring over salsa and chips and keep asking if you’d like a refill also. Their portions are very large and they are very generous with coupons, etc.
Best guacamole I ever ate in a restaurant. Prices are reasonable and the food was excellent. Tasty Margaritas. Just the right amount of tequila. Will return. Good neighborhood restaurant. Service was fast.
Grande Jake’s – Buffalo Grove. Location: Restaurant is in a small strip mall. If you blink, you’ll miss it. We drove way past this place and had to backtrack quite a bit.Food/Price: Reasonable. My dad had a chicken fajita burrito ($5.25), which he said was really good (good chunks of chicken, nice veggies, etc.). Definitely cheaper than Tacos El Norte and better than anything you’d get at Chipotle. I had the Grande Jake’s Nachos (no meat…$5.50…meat would have made it $5.95). Lots of chips and toppings…loads of cheese. Definitely a meal for two!!My only complaint was the cheese they use here. It’s not shredded cheese and melted. It’s not some sort of unique Mexican cheese blend. It’s the bright orange liquid-y kind of cheese that is most commonly found on your carnival/movie nachos. Kind of disappointing…I expected better.Will I return?: Yes! Good location, clean, great staff, and an extensive salsa bar. However, I will probably order something different the next time.
I now love Mexican food!. Never liked Mexican food until I ate here. WOW!! The food tastes great. Very flavorful! I especially hated beans and they have THE BEST! . The prices are great and the portions are sinful! Gi-normous! Jake and Georgia are the nicest people on earth! They appreciate your business and always make sure to stop by your table to say hi. Couldn’t wish a more deserving family all the success in the world.
EEEEeee – hoe – lay. Grande Jakes is as Mexican as Mexican Food can get in Illinois. Their flan is to die for…Mmmm. The burrito is TEXAS sized and their Steak Oaxaquena is the B-O-M-B! This location is absolutely the prettiest out of the THREE locations they currently have. Whether you’re on a 1st date, out with the whole familia, or just need to break away for a magic margarita; Grande Jakes is the place to be! Jake is a great guy and his beautiful wife is a gem! GO NOW…what’cha waitin’ for?
