Love this place! Have been coming for years and it was been good since the day I’ve first gone. Their chips and salsa are amazing. Sometimes I have gotten a bad batch or two but I would say 85% of the time it’s awesome. Their enchiladas I crave for. So gooey cheesy and flavorful. Their tacos are a little blan when you eat but the lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and meat but put the salsa on and it’s yummy. Chimmi changas and fajitas are also delicious choices as well. Margarita’s are best when frozen. I would give this restaurant a 8.5/9. It is a great experience.
Mehhhh… We had stale chips and bland salsa the shrimp fajita was good but not excellent. You would do better at TAPALPA in Elk Grove Village
Artist formerly known as La Chicanita. The bar and additional dining area was laid out very nicely and would be an ideal place to entertain guests on a warm evening. Chips and salsa were delivered as we sat down and packed a seriously spicy punch. Portion control needed as the plate left plenty for future enjoyment. Authentic service was performed with a smile and at a leisurely pace which allowed us to enjoy private conversation and the friendly ambiance. Javier’s presented the same menu as La Chicanita was famous for, though with slightly increased prices to help pay for the recent improvements. As the evening at Javier’s progressed, so did my appreciation for authentic Spanish music!

I have been eating here since I was in diapers. First as LaTijaunitas, then Chicanita, and now Javiers. I have never had a bad meal there. Hands down favorite authentic Mexican food any day of the week!!! Highly recommend steak fajitas, choriqueso!!! Very good service and very clean. The margaritas are excellent!
This place starts you out w/salsa that can burn a hole in the floor.the food is so over priced you would get better at taco bell. and the waiters are sooo rude. dont waste your time
Very spicy salsa and the menu is a little overpriced for Mexican food. But it’s worth it. The food is amazing!!! The only downside is how crowded it always it is so it takes a while to get your food. They always refil your salsa bowls while you wait!!!! 🙂
