Deceptive. I was very, very hungry, so I took JD’s drive through. The menu board said a burger was $5.95 so I ordered that. Imagine my surprise when the server asked me for $8.25. When I asked why, she told me that they had raised prices but hadn’t gotten around to changing the board. Already annoyed, I settled in for a long wait for my order. When it finally came, the burger was excellent, but I am not sure if I would have ordered it if I had been aware of the true price. I doubt if I will ever go back to JD’s/
Got up and was making breakfast asked my grandson if he wanted breakfast and he was eating sliders he had left over from the night before they smelled great asked him if I could try them…..My husband and I have been hooked ever since
GIFT CERTIFICATES CAN NOT BE USED WIth 50% of the menu.. I bought a couple of the Restaurant .com certificates. When I tried to use them, I was told that only some of the food items qualified. They had food boards with 30 different meals that they consider specials that did not qualify for the certificates. I had the cashier figure out the same items with using the certificate and it was the same price as the special. Do not buy the certificates and think you will be better off.
What happened?. It had been several months since I last went to JD’s. On this trip, I had the brisket, baked beans, and corn bread. The brisket was pretty good though it’s a shame that the sauce that they provide to go is little better than ketchup with vinegar. Really? That’s the best you can do? Still, decent brisket. The baked beans in the past had been outstanding with a nice rich sauce and loaded with big pieces of brisket. This time, however, they were very weak in flavor. Even the color of the beans were as yellow as a can of Hunt’s.The biggest disappointment, however, was the corned bread. I prefer a moist bread with a hearty corn flavor. This bread was about 20 minutes short of a crouton and as bland as white bread.Sadly, it was lousy experience.
To Die For. Happened to stop in here on my way home from work, and honestly thought I was going to a different restaurant…. this used to be a place called Teddy’s. I came in for a gyro, which they do in fact have, but come to find out that it’s now a BBQ RESTAURANT!!! I have been driving into the city for years to quench my BBQ cravings and now that drive is no longer necessary. This place is fantastic, best brisket I’ve ever had. I’ve been going to Smoque since they opened and untill walking into this place I was under the assumption they had the best brisket in Chicago and I now stand corrected. I grew up in Texas just outside of Austin, where Brisket isn’t a food it’s a religion, and this could easily stand next to the best of the best. Service was good, the place has a clean comfortable decor, and they also have about 100 different beers to choose from, but the brisket will keep me coming back again and again. Check this place out, you won’t regret it.
BBQ?. The owner/manager of this dump has no clue about real BBQ. They are children. The ribs are the worst. The chicken and pork are common. The brisket is edible. They have no clue about mopping the meat while cooking and the sauce hides nothing. The floor is disgusting! I suggest they take a trip to KC or N. or S.Carolina before trying to serve any more of this slop to their victims. 25 beers do not make up for bad food!
Great chicken sandwiches. Fish and Chips are good as well
