Obviously not the best Korean food you can get but I have to give it 5 stars for the value, convenience and the fact that it is running in the back corner of a supermarket. The quality of the food is really good for what youre paying and is definitely authentic. They have a pretty good variety of items on their menu and I could see myself coming here a lot (for groceries, too) if I lived in Chicago! Nothing fancy but perfect for a quick, easy and filling meal.
I love Joong Boo. The grocery is incredible, You can find any Asian food or drink items that wouldn’t be sold at your standard market. The seafood there is also amazing. Besides having the Wednesday $25 sashimi platter special ($35 any other day), they have a full selection of fish, clams, crab, octopus, etc. There is a small restaurant inside where you can get delicious soups, noodles, and rice with kimchi, although, there is very limited seating. I haven’t tried the dumpling stand but I can’t wait to next time I’m there!
