I don’t have an issue paying good money for good food. This place is overpriced.
Went there last night for the first time. The tuna tartar was amazing, and the smothered grilled chicken super yummy! I wish I had room for dessert because the banana bread bread pudding sounds great!
Excellent. My husband and I went to Baxters for the first time together recently. I hadn’t been there in a couple of years, but I had heard the kitchen had switched to a scratch kitchen and wanted to try it. It was wonderful. We both ordered different chicken dishes and had the warm bacon spinach salads. Everything was excellent. The cranberry stuffing that came with the Whiskey Glazed Chicken was the best I’ve ever had anywhere. We also ordered the Butter Cake dessert to share. Again, it was excellent and we had complimentary coffee to go with it. Staff was great, food was great. We will go again.
Really so-so. Food is average. I’ve had better tasting food at Applebee’s. It’s conveniently located by the airport and that’s about it.
Lunch. Have eaten there several times for lunch. The food has always been above the average and very good. Server Staff have always been very knowledgable and courteous.
Awesome atmosphere, terrible food. We had a discount deal certificate to Baxter’s so we made the trip over to Bloomington to check it out! It is in a very cool building and has a great set-up & design. There was a 20 min wait so we got a seat at the bar and ordered a drink and an appetizer. The bartender was sooo cheesy about complimenting our drink and app choices! He was acting like a bartender from a movie but it was very amusing. We had the calamari which was typical and came with 2 sauces, a spicy orangeish creamy one and marinara. The spicy one was very different and tasty. They had good wine choices as well at moderate prices. We were seated after about 30 mins but didn’t mind the extra wait because of our appetizer. When we were seated though, there were LOTS of empty tables so I think the wait was more to do with lack of staff than room. We both decided to get seafood, I ordered the cedar plank salmon and my husband the caribbean mako shark. Our salads were tasty and had dressings on the side which was good. Then our food came and they were complete opposites of each other. Mine was charred almost black on one side and my husbands was raw on the inside. His was soooo salty I don’t know how he ate it and my dijion sauce was bland. I think we had 2 very different cooks working on our dinners!! We were considering sending them back but we had been there for almost 2 hours and still had to drive back to Peoria so we ate what we could and got out of there. I think we would only go back if someone else was dying to try it and we would give it another shot. This was also in March I think so maybe things are different?? It’s a cool building but it’s amazing how a bad cook can drive away business no matter what it looks like!
Awesome!. Attended a wedding rehearsal dinner there. Buffet was incredible! Seriously, the beef was better than 99% of steakhouses I’ve been to and the ribs rocked. I’m a food snob and this place was 100% legit. Highly recommend!
