Best Chinese in Bloomington. I have been eating at the Grand Cafe for over 30 years. The portions are large, the food is tasty, and the wait staff is very friendly. We always go there for special occasions. The egg rolls are simply the best anywhere. I have never had a bad meal in all the times I have eaten here. The dish that I would recommend to someone would be Gum Lo Won Ton, a real treat. When we order the family dinners there is enough take home for another family meal at home. Voted number one Chinese Restaurant by The Pantagraph.
Don’t let looks fool you. This is great food and service. This isn’t sitting on a buffet for hours or call up for delivery when there’s nothing else to eat Chinese. It’s old school sit down Chinese dinner and it’s delicious. If you remember Tien Tsin, you’ll like this. Have an egg roll. Or three.

Ate there not long after moving to the Midwest and was horrified. So glad there are better Chinese restaurants in town. Can hardly call it edible, much less Chinese food.
Terrible. It is the only Chinese restaurant food I have ever had where I left it on the plate. I would rather go hungry than eat there again. Can’t understand it’s popularity at all.
Awful. If someone were to call this real Chinese food, I suggest they buy a plane ticket to China and go to Sichuan province. My friends took me hear and I declined, so I just sat and watched them eat. I wanted to vomit afterward. The egg drop soup looked like someone had actually dropped an egg in hot water. That is not what egg drop soup is. Also most of the dishes are fried with much grease. I wouldn’t feed a dog Grand Cafe leftovers. I recommend Oriental Gourmet or Lucky Garden if you want to know real Chinese Food. Some dishes are made up American Chinese dishes, but they do have many authentic dishes with Chinese products. Grand Cafe is a negative in my book.
It is a great place to have real Chinese food. The waiters are friendly and charming. It’s a tastee place that will fill you up.
