Awesome food, bbq shrimp very good, chicken wrap special worth the money
Great lunch, but a few details were unexpected. My husband and I ate there today for lunch. It was a bit busy, but that’s not to be expected for any downtown restaurant at noon. The staff were kind and attentive. The food was expertly cooked, and worth the money (I had a burger, he had a pot roast sandwich). A couple of odd things I noticed: the Pizza Caesar Flatbread is more expensive at lunch ($10) than it is at night ($9). Also, I was really surprised to not be handed any sort of drink menu when we came in. It’s a pub! We would’ve been happy to try a drink, but the waiter only mentioned RC products (which, honestly, is refreshing- I wish more places carried RC).
OK for drinks, BAD for food. As a first time visitor had high expectations, especially after seeing the menu. Be warned though, high prices do NOT equate to good food. For the appetizer, the bacon wrapped shrimp was spoiled by the barbeque sauce under which it was drowned. The barbeque sauce itself tasted as though it had just been squirted on top from the Kraft bottle. For the entrees, my salmon was way overdone, my veg were woefully undercooked, and the potatoes were cold. Never trust a restaurant who pipes mashed potatoes out of a pastry bag with a fancy tip. My companion had the rack of lamb which was also overcooked and devoid of any seasoning whatsoever. The service was lackluster as well. We had to ask for bread, was not offered coffee or desert, and were not even queried as to what was wrong with our food when half of it was left on the plate. In summary, I would definitely go for a drink at the bar as the atmosphere is good, but will never go back for the overpriced fare.
Rosie’s is a fantastic spot for a date! Not enough people in town know about this place. It’s not just a bar, people! Always a favorite for us. A nice quiet atmosphere with an always attentive and friendly staff. Oh yeah, the food is great too!
The stuffed chicken is AMAZING!! Go early though, as they often run out of it. Good place for a date, if you can get into the dining room (small and it books up fast).
Wonderful. One of our favorites in Bloomington. Great food for dinner and good value
Elegant and awesome. How I love Rosie’s. I’ve lived here long enough to see the establishment through three different owners, and Molly has finally given this lovely pub what it deserves. The always comfortable bar was my place before having a daughter, but the surprise lies in the dining room – warm, inviting, and comfortable. The menu goes beyond traditional bar food with flatbreads, eggplant rollatini, and even duck. As a vegetarian I’d like to see a little more creativity with some meatless dishes, but there are options for my crowd as well.
