BEWARE Outsiders are not welcome!. If you even try to sit in or at the bar you get the evil eye and will not be served until you leave. The wings are not all that and the onion rings and the tenderloin are just all breading. If you are a fan of grease this is the place to eat, but if you prefer substance and good food, I would go somewhere else.
Friendly service and nice low key atmosphere. Onion rings were a bit greasier than I prefer but after all, they’re onion rings. Club sandwich and burger horseshoe were just okay. Boring plain-jane bread. Burger patty was obviously out of the freezer and cheese sauce was out of a can. Schlafly pale ale on tap was nice served in a frosty goblet. Overall food was just okay. Service was good.

Great Wings. I’ve been going to Schooner’s since I was in the womb. Still my favorite place to get wings in town and the onion rings are great, too. A great local place with a beer garden in the summer. Check your wallet before you go – it’s cash only.
While I can’t speak for the food (I had a salad), I can speak for the clientele. I was not aware this was a cash-only establishment. When it was time to pay my bill, I was directed to the ATM. The ATM fee and my bank’s fee would’ve turned my $10 tab into a $14.50 bill. As I offered the bartender to hold my wallet so I could run to a non-fee ATM, a woman seated at the bar graciously offered to pay my tab. I was overwhelmed by this generous gesture. If nothing else, Schooners does have a very high quality clientele. Thank you, dear lady.
Cozy place with better wings than the chains and at a better price too. Onion rings are fat, juicy, and delicious.
