What a gem! We found this place as we were passing through on a trip. Large menu with lots of variety. The Tom Ka Kai soup, Chicken Satay, and Duck Pad Thai were excellent. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Highly recommended!
This little authentic gem is amazing. I have tried so many things off the menu over the years and have loved them all. The soups are the bomb. Hard to say what my favorites are because there are so many. If forced to choose I would say the Pad Ke Mao. The owner Sue is a cute little lady & very gracious. Love this place, & I can’t say enough good things about it.
This is my go to Thai restaurant in the Bloomington-Normal area, and no other Thai restaurant comes even close to the flavors this place offers. If you’re looking for a nice Asian restaurant for a date – this is not necessarily the place for you. The ambiance, service or decor is nothing to write home about; and more often than not the service can be extremely slow. However, if it is delicious food you’re looking for – look no further. My favorite things on their menu – Red Curry, Curry Fried Rice, Pad Thai, in that order, all made extra spicy! I will continue to indulge my taste buds here as long as I am in the area.
This is one of the best Thai restaurants in BN area. You must try their bum lad ne(I may have messed up the spelling) and Thai tea. These foods are addicting.
Thanks Google!. Traveling to St. LOUIS, we stopped for gas. This was one if the first recommendations for food, so we drove the 2 miles to get here. The server was very friendly and she accommodated our requests to make things without meat and dairy. That was great! The food was delicious! My yellow curry was very flavorful. I ordered it with vegetables instead of meat. My partner’s pad thai was good, with very soft noodles. We asked for to go cups for our coffee and tea, which arrived in huge cups! Wow!
Worth the trip. My wife and I travel past Bloomington on the way to St. Louis often, and always stop there for food there. By far, the Thai House has been our favorite. Feels casual and is run by an older lady that could be the thai equivalent of the stereotypical Italian grandma. It’s her way or the highway, lol. The pad thai is the best that we’ve found, but we also could spend a whole meal just sampling the appetizers. Cost is reasonable, service is consistent. Sometimes it gets really busy, but waiting is the price to pay for eating at a good restaurant.We did try the other thai place (bonafide) in bloomington, and a couple of chinese spots (lucky garden, Mandarin)… they just don’t have quite the atmosphere or food quality. Thai house is not fancy, it’s just damn good.
Best Thai period!! I travel a lot and try Thai all over. This place is amazing. The Panang Noodles is insane. The house made noodles have almost a smoke flavor from the high heat wok. I am not sure if the people of Bloomington understand the hidden gem they have. Excellent work Thai House, excellent work!!!
