BEWARE OF FAMILY SQUARE!!!After voting…my wife and I stopped by Family Square for breakfast. We ordered an omelette and soup. Got a doggy bag for food not eaten. While the misses was paying the bill at the cash register…this guy walks over to our booth and asked what happened to the crackers that were in the bread basket. I thought he was kidding so I told him oops there all gone. This guy then identified himself as the owner and demanded I give him the crackers that I had put inside the doggy bag. He then had the nerve to start looking inside the plastic bag for the crackers. After a bunch of expletives and yelling I was then grabbed on the arm by some guy who I warned to unhand me. He identified himself as the second owner and complained that I took some coffee creamers in addition to the crackers. They also insulted us referring to us as derelicts…hard up taking crackers etc. I told them both to go f*&&%^&% themselves and exited the place. My wife and I had been to this restaurant many times…But never again. P.S. But while I was there, I noticed the waitress twice walking the bread baskets from other customers tables back into the kitchen. After my horrible experience I am convinced that the restaurant has a policy of giving out food that has been previously pawed over by other customers. I intend to report this incident to the will county health department.
Average or Slightly Above. Just your average family restaurant right off I55 and route 53. Although they have breakfast lunch and dinner, we’ve only had breakfast and have never been disappointed. Portions are more than fair for the price and pleasant service. The cinnamon french toast is my favorite thing on the menue.
