We ate in the bar which has a bit more atmosphere than the ding room. Good black bean soup; the marinated London broil sandwich sauce had a nice bite. The jumbalaya was excellent and the ribs were tasty. The au gratin potatoes weren’t as good as Carsons but acceptable.
Have been to Gale Street a few times but it’s probably been a few years since my last visit. I remember that the steak was amazing. Calamari is always good as well as the stuffed mushrooms. The ambiance is nice enough, just maybe a little too stuffy. Service is fantastic. Need to go again soon!
Love Gale Street. Started with the grilled calamarie with the balsamic dressing, excellentgreat bar with excellent service and selections. try the ManhattanCome for the ribs, the sides are great
Legendary, clean and friendly folks/staff. Ribs are as good as advertised! Great bar area too. Family friendly is also a big plus in dining rooms. A neighborhood Chicago legend.
Going down hill!. Don’t have time to wait 20-30 minutes for a table? Are you missing one person in your ten person party and you don’t get seated for over an hour? Are you noticing the poor service and quality of food? Don’t get mad just drive up Milwaukee 10 minutes north for 3 miles to Chambers in Niles. You’ll be very glad you did. Chambers has a much bigger menu. Everything that I have had on the menu has been outstanding especially bruschetta, pasta, coconut shrimp, grilled salmon and they even do an outstanding pizza! You will not be disappointed. They also have plenty of tables and parking. They have live music on most nights. The service is perfect. They have a full bar and a room with a proper bar. However, they do not have beers on draft which I think is the only minus.Dress code is casual and prices are about the same as Gale Street. Have been noticing that the quality of food and the service has been declining at Gale Street. The menu is also much smaller than it used to be. We recently had a very bad experience with the owner, George, and another lady managing the place so we have decided to stop going to the Gale Street Inn unfortunately.
Friendly Staff and Great Ribs. Our party of 8 had the chance to try a variety if menu items including the fall off the bone rack of ribs, the twin lobster tails, bbq chicken and a flat bread pizza. The food came out quickly, the staff was friendly and the live jazz combo was a nice touch. We finished off our meals with the turlte icecream cake…enough for 4 to share! A fun evening at this local restaurant celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Horrible! First off the mgmt on two ocassions seated a larger party than ours. We waited over 40 min. For table seating. Ribs were under cook.. Will not return
