Outstanding gyros. I stopped in here on my way back from an event in Skokie the other night and I was greeted to a typical diner feel and a whole lot of choices. I was single-minded in my desire for gyros, so that’s all I ordered. I asked for extra meat because I’m used to most joints skimping on that part of the meal. Kings Gyros does not skimp, and the extra bucks paid for the extra meat meant I was so loaded up with it I couldn’t fold the darn thing. So I ate it with a knife and fork! How do you like that?!?The meat is cut right off the spit, and it is juicy and flavorful and so, so, so wonderful. Their tzatziki sauce is cool and plentiful and came on the side (which was nice), but I wish it had just a bit more flavor to it. I’m sure it is traditional and gyro purists would slap me, but some mint or something would go a long way in it. I loved my gyros (got two — ate one for breakfast the next day because of how big they are) and I will definitely be back.I can’t vouch for anything else on the menu, but if you have a hankering for a gyro and nothing else will do, then head over to this joint and order one up.
