How lucky I read about this spot( or 3 at the airport) – to have Rick Bayless food is a treat. You can even order ahead of time for pickup before your flight. Located in several terminals–lucky travel to pick up a bag of his creations. Please note th nicest people work here ( United terminal) and want to give a shout out to his worker. Thank you.
Stumbled in here on my way back South, needing a beer and a bite to eat. I’d somehow eluded the Chicago Beef sandwich until then, but decided to give it a shot at Harry Caray’s in Midway. The sandwich was delicious and well priced. Service was a little slow, but in our server’s defense, the place was packed. The location was a tad cramped, but hey, it’s better than being on a plane!
Ive eaten here a couple of times and would recommend it. The prices are a little high, but it is at the airport so that accounts for some of it. The variety of entrees is good and the quality is excellent. Also, the wait times arent too long if youre connecting from one flight to the next.
Second visit to a TF. The fully dressed guac with the light crispy salted and limed chips is a meal in itself, and saved the Chipotle Chicken Torta, revered in reviews, for an early supper in my upcoming 4.5 hour flight. Remarkable good at an airport, worth every penny of the $21 spent ($8 for the filial and chips, $11 for sandwich). Must eat here!
I honestly can’t believe I’m writing a review for a restaurant at an airport. Seems a little silly for sure – but that’s how yummy Chef Rick Bayless’ Spanish food food joint is. I guess I’ll say this – I’ve purposely added a delay at O’Hare just to eat here – I swear. Everything I’ve had is fantastic, with my favourite being the Pepito Torta (or the Chipotle Chicken). The Pepito Torta is nice and tangy from the pickled jalapeo. The guac bar is a must. I’m normally a bit of a purist when it comes to guacamole – I think it’s delicious without any toppings, but Chef Bayless proved me wrong here. Don’t leave without getting it fully dressed. So, if I’ve purposely made a layover in Chicago, just to get my fix, I’d say – it’s worth going to this or any of his locations in Chicago. thechefandthedish.com
While waiting for flight, I had quick lunch. Tortillas and salsa. The chips were bit salty. The quantity is quite sufficient. Service takes about 10 minutes time. Keep that in mind while ordering otherwise you may miss your flight.
This is the best airport food I’ve had. Delicious drinks too. We had the Chipotle chicken and a salad. Great quality and good portion. I will definitely eat here again next time I’m at O’Hare.
