We spent 200 dollars in drinks then when we ordered our meal they were out of what we originally went there for and the owner was unwilling to give us our third choice at a discounted price. He was the most irrogant and rude person we ever met. Usually the owner is accommadating and wanting to please the customer especially after spending 200 dollars and instead were asked to leave. I would never ever recommend this restaurant to anyone. In addition to this, the prices were outrageous and the appetizers were not only expensive but very small in portion and I’ve had better appetizers at TGI Fridays.
The Right Spot.. Maybe people only write bad reviews, but I was shocked at how negatively Tavern on LaGrange is being reviewed. This is a perfect spot to take a date, or enjoy a nice drink in a elegant place. The food is amazing.
Tavern on La Grange review. Hello everyone, Our family, adult children and spouse went to the Tavern on 8/27/2011 for a late lunch, 3pm. The place was very empty, only a few tables taken. We were seated quickly and our drink order was taken. Food was very good, cheeseburgers, steak salad, red pepper bisque, caprese salad and delicious home made(I think) bread. Would go back to hear some live music some night.
Going downhill. I had gone there a few times since they opened and I thought the food was really good. The appetizer selection is very large and the prices were really pretty good. Went back this weekend and what a change! The prices went way, way up! I don’t mean a couple bucks but almost double in some cases. $14.50 for four shrimp!! Are you kidding me – this isn’t downtown! We got an order of sliders and the Calamari. I am not kidding when I say the meat was the size of a quarter on an almost regular sized bun. This for $10.50 (4) – my date said you have to be kidding to the waitress and said to take them back. She even admitted it was pathetic. The calamari order was really small with a half filled platic cup of cold sauce – greasy and disgusting. The manager came right next to us take it off the bill for the bartender but wouldn’t even look at us. We left there and went someplace else to eat and it was funny our second waitress said she was just there the week before and had a horrible experience. I hope they get their act together because it’s a pretty nice place inside and the area could use a place like it.
Good Times. We want their for New Years eve party. Their was 8 of us we never have been their before we had a great time a great waiter, great music! We are all going back for dinner!
Overcharged for weak drinks!. Been there 3 times, mostly to listen to the bands. They force drinks, charge for more drinks than you order, the drinks get weaker and when you complain they seem like your the one who screwed up. My friend was even overcharged there, The service is very bad too. We kept getting brought orders from other tables. We had to keep telling the same person over and over that we didnt order the item. Finding a new place to go!
